Wendelstein : up with a cable car and down on foot

We wanted to hike Wendelstein since couple of weeks already and it looked we’ll manage it finally on Saturday 4.11 but I was feeling weak and lazy so in the end, we left home late and it would be a struggle to hike the peak in time to catch the last cable car down. So, in the end we decided to go up with the car and walk down. We did hike 100hm up to the very top from the cable car station so it wasn’t all down hiking in the end 😉 The view from Wendelstein is truly stunning, you see Großglockner staring at you and all the other snowy peaks, 80-90km away and still very well visible. Panoramaweg was closed due to icy/snowy conditions, pity but we still have seen enough. And it took us almost 3h to get back to the car, nice route – although very muddy at stages.
