XX: 8.9.2023, Brenta day 1: from Vallesinella to Rifugio Graffer and around :)

It’s been my dream for the last couple of years to go to Brenta – after discovering that there is another part of Dolomites, aside from the usual ones 😉 And this September it finally happened!

4 days, 50km, 3.155 hM, 2 Rifugios and a massive amount of fantastic views and memories. I am definitely coming back for more!

M. arrived from Munich with FlixBus, smooth ride and I picked him up in Trento. From there we went up to Madonna di Campiglio, stopping over at beautiful bridge over Lago di Santa Giustina:

Passing thru sleepy villages that only burst into life in ski season, we arrived in Madonna, just in time for pizza and early night. And then it’s Friday morning and off we go to Vallesinella parking! It’s recommended to book it online upfront https://mobilita.campigliodolomiti.it/it/location/vallesinella/parcheggio.html and you need to get there until 10am, after that only shuttle bus goes through.

We leave the car there for 5 days and start off the Brenta adventure! The backpacks are heavy (too much stuff as usual) and it’s very hot but who cares: it’s still better than sitting in the office 😆

It takes us 3h to get to Rifugio Graffer and the beer after dropping the backpacks tastes extra delicious!

But hey, I wouldn’t be myself if I just stayed put there for the rest of the day so it’s time for a light afternoon round – and it turned out just beautiful 😻 (albeit too long – I did underestimate my own capability hehe)

It’s been a long perfect day! Finished off with a nice sunset, petting dogs and having some well deserved 🍷
